Dionne Warwick has long been one of my favorite artists – so a pretty obvious title here. Of course, don’t assume that Dr. Liu has any affinity for the star of Walk on By, and Solid Gold fame. Reality is that my wife would be pretty mortified with the association – way too sappy for Diana. I mean, she’s more of a Talking Heads or The Cure kind of girl.
Oh well. Her loss.
But the point is that we’re heading to San Jose – or at least close to it – and we thought we would take you along again.
The plan is to fly to Seattle Tuesday night, put Old Dan and Little Ann back together, head to a hotel for the night, and then, Wednesday morning, start biking down the coast – with the idea of finishing our journey in Silicon Valley – where most of Diana’s relatives live.

It’s not quite the big international journey of yesteryear. No one had to quit work. Indeed, Diana will be back with her patients again in a few weeks – but it should be fun nonetheless. I mean, what’s not to like about a trip along the Pacific Coast?
I’m not really sure we’ll be posting on Facebook as consistently this time – so if you want to follow along you might have to stop back at the blog/website periodically, sign up to receive the email updates (I think if you were signed up previously you should still be receiving posts now), or, for the shorter version, follow Diana on Strava (linked on the website as well).
To sign up, visit www.ourventures.bike, click on the Menu, and go to Subscribe.
Looking forward to your thoughts, comments, and suggestions as we make our way down the left coast.
After all, That’s What Friends Are For . . .

Have a great trip! We did the Oregon Coast last fall. Lots of nice state parks to camp at and some great whale watching in Depoe Bay.

Sounds like a great idea! But also consider a ride down to Laguna Niguel!

That sounds great! I rode that stretch in 1985 as part of a circuit from MN. Lots of iconic Pacific coastal views, especially around Big Sur. It will be fun to hear about your journey! Stay safe.

Yawn…can’t imagine the excitement will compare to homemade liquor in Mexico or an old lady stealing your mushrooms in Eastern Europe!

Have fun in France. Good to go in the fall, when presumably there won’t be a heat wave. 😀

Thanks John. Love to hear that you two are biking again! Just tell Diana that she better be back in the Twin Cities for an appointment with me in early October! Just kidding … But I do miss her.
I will look forward to following your trek!
